The official start of baseball season is right around the corner and the Tampa Bay Rays are getting custom themed beer cans for opening day.
There's nothing quite like a day at the ballpark on a summer day. Spring training is already in full effect. We're so lucky, as baseball fans, to have two teams playing here in Fort Myers- the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox. But the official start of the baseball season is coming quick.
At the game, I love the sights, the sounds, and definitely the food and beverage. I always have to get a hotdog and an ice cold beer. They go together just perfectly.
Though it's not just traditional ballpark food at Tropicana Field, they have a great variety. From pizza and chicken to Cuban sandwiches and grouper cheeks, there's something for everyone. And this year on opening day the Tampa Bay Rays will be getting some custom themed beer cans.
Tampa Bay Rays Getting Custom Themed Beer Cans For Opening Day
Opening Day for the Tampa Bay Rays is coming up on March 28th and once again Budweiser will have some custom themed cans available for purchase. Every year the beer maker releases cans for different teams to celebrate the start of baseball season. And this year, they'll be doing so for 15 teams all with unique cans. The Rays can will be in the team's shades of blues with the stadium and “Brewed for ‘The Bay'” on it. But you don't have to go the Trop to get your hands on one. They'll be sold all around the Tampa Bay area anywhere Budweiser is sold.
Si.com reports other teams with themed cans include the Yankees, Cardinals, Phillies, Washington Nationals, Marlins, Twins, Orioles, Padres, Giants, Astros, Rangers, Diamondbacks, Reds and Cubs.
20 Hottest Major League Baseball Players: Ranked
20 Hottest Major League Baseball Players: Ranked. This isn't a ranking of how good they are on the field, which clearly they're good enough to be in the pros. This is a list based purely on looks.
UPDATED: March 27th, 2024
These rankings have become quite popular. We've ranked the hottest NFL coaches, NFL quarterbacks and World Cup players, most recently NBA players. NBA hotness was often swayed by which Kardashian the player was dating (or just wanting to have kids with). Who Khloe Kardashian was with and more recently, Kendall Jenner. But now it's spring and time to turn our attention towards baseball. Diana normally does these, but she's busy on another project. Also, Olivia Dunne's boyfriend Paul Skenes is not officially in the majors, yet. As I'm writing this, he's in Triple A.
We brought this topic up on the air and people we very opinionated. Had some texts come in. Made ranking the players a very tough choice. So we turned to some experts. Ranker. Ranker did a very long list of MLB players, too many actually. So we'll just bring this down to the top 20. It was a good start, but we need a bit of a Southwest Florida local flair to this. Since we have spring training here in Fort Myers, the top 2 players on our list were just here. Does this make it fair to players who have spring training in Arizona and not Florida? Probably not. Coming to Fort Myers clearly has sway on this list.
The Hottest Major League baseball Players.
Also, this list is not about who the best player is. This list does include some of the best players in the game right now. But this list is different. When I do a "Tallest MLB Players" story, Aaron Judge can win that. So let's do this. The Hottest Major League Baseball Players - Ranked.
This list has been updated for the 2024 season. I've also updated all the pictures, too. Enjoy! And relax, we're just having some fun.
20. Mookie Betts
You want to tell me the Dodgers didn't know what they were doing with those hats? They're going to sell a lot of merch this year. And at 31 years old, Mookie still looks good. He was at #20 last year, as well.
19. D. J. LeMahieu
DJ is the reason Trent Grisham didn't make the list this year. Also, he plays for the Yankees now, after seasons with the Rockies and the Cubs. The bigger market may have helped him move up.
18. Cody Bellinger
Cody just signed a pretty big contract to play center field for the Cubs. Does making big bucks increase your hotness? Doesn't hurt. Cody is down to number 18 after being 17th last year.
17. Alex Bregman
New to the list this year is Alex Bregman. Alex plays third base and shortstop and has a salsa endorsement. I think more professional athletes should endorse condiments.
16. Jacob deGrom
No change here. Jacob was number 16 last year as well. Consistency is good.
15. Chris Taylor
Chris goes by CT3. And is number 15 on this year's list. Dropping from last year's 13th place.
14. Bryce Harper
Bryce keeps the 14th place he earned last year. Despite being such a dominant player, a World Series Title has eluded him. This could be the year.
13. Gavin Lux
The Dodgers just moved him to second base. Gavin moves down to 13 after being 12th place last year.
12. Fernando Tatis Jr.
Fernando jumps up several spots this year to number 12. That suspension cost him some playing time in of 2022/2023 which probably hurt his rank. Well, he's back. And looks to be killing it on the field.
11. Aaron Judge
Aaron holds on to his 11 spot from last year. Aaron looks to have a big year as he's one of the faves for MVP and he's a guest star on 'PAW Patrol' spin-off "Rubble & Crew". I'd look for him to crack the top 10 next year.
10. Alex Kirilloff
There's some Fort Myers here in the top 10. Alex has had some injury issues lately, but 2024 is a whole new year. Sorry about all the rain and cold while you were here in Fort Myers. It's not normally like that.
9. Francisco Lindor
Francisco holds tight with the number 9 spot he earned last year. Fun fact: He once had two triples in the first three innings of a game.
8. George Springer
George drops from 5th to 8th in this years ranking.
7. Akil Baddoo
His standing on this list is in jeopardy. It looks like the Tigers just optioned him to AAA. We'll keep him at number 7 for now.
6. Kris Bryant
It seemed like there were a lot more pictures to choose from when it came to Kris's during the team's photo day. Most players I have 2 or 3 options. With Kris the photographer did lighting changes and posted a bunch of pictures. We get it.
5. Javier Báez
Starting off the top 5 is the Detroit Tigers infielder Javier Báez. He really struggled last year, maybe this top 5 showing will energize his 2024 game.
4. Christian Yelich
Christian holds onto his fourth place spot from last year. Last year's leadoff hitter looks to be batting third this year.
3. Kiké Hernández
he drops from last year's second place to third this year. Dude had been playing with two sports hernias over the past couple of years. That's some grit right there.
2. Nolan Arenado
Second on the list is one of the best defensive players in the game. Perhaps he can help out the rest of the team, the Cardinals had an absolutely horrendous year last year.
1. Max Kepler
Repeating his number one spot is Max Kepler, who just left the warm sunny skies of Fort Myers to head up north. 2 years at number one is quite the accomplishment. Let's see some bonus footage.
