Messi Scores Again; Inter Miami Draws with LA
Lionel Messi and Inter Miami are underway in their first full MLS season together. And just like Messi seems to do every time he’s on the pitch, he found the back of the net. Inter Miami ended up drawing the game with LA Galaxy 1-1, and moves Miami to the top of the Eastern Conference standings and the MLS. Inter has only played 2 games, but has 4 points through those games. And they also have one more game played than any other ECF foe. Messi scores again and Inter Miami managed to get a point from a game where 3 points looked unlikely throughout the 90 minutes. But this is what Lionel Messi is capable of. He can pull a rabbit out of his hat at any moments and change the outcome of a match. Here’s the video as Messi scores again.

Inter Miami is leaning into their South Florida and South American identity. On top of having proven South American stars on the roster, the club is signing young talent from South America. And specifically Argentina. Over the weekend Inter Miami signed Argentina youth star Federico Redondo. He joins a strong Argentinian contingency at Inter Miami led by Lionel Messi and manager Gerardo “Tata” Martino.
Looking ahead at what Inter Miami has on their schedule, they have an opportunity to build a lead in the MLS. In March of the 5 MLS matches for Inter Miami, only 2 of them are against playoff teams from last season (Orlando City and New York Red Bulls). Inter also has a two-let CONCACAF Champions Cup match. But we’re still waiting to see who that opponent will be for the international competition. It’s been a good start to the season from Lionel Messi and Inter Miami. It’s important they keep the pressure on opponents and not drop points early in the season.
