Tomorrow night will be a big night as ring in 2024 and Cape Coral is hosting its first every New Year's Eve celebration.

For some, putting on sweats and watching New Year's Eve countdowns on TV is what you look forward to. Maybe it's a nice dinner out at a fancy restaurant. Or maybe it's putting on your party shoes and hitting the town to celebrate the start of a new year. Whatever your way of getting down on December 31st, it's hard to believe it's tomorrow already. Where has 2023 gone? We can't stop time, we can only embrace it and I like to look at the start of a new year as a time to reset, set new goals and plan for fun things in the year ahead. If you're still looking for a place to usher in 2024, Cape Coral has a huge celebration planned.

Cape Coral Is Hosting Its First Ever New Year's Eve Celebration

The City of Cape Coral has been doing so many fun things over the last few years. And this year, for the first time ever, the city is hosting its first ever New Year's Eve celebration. The festivities will take place on Southeast 47th Terrace and will be a family-friendly event. Everything that's great about South Cape will be open, like shops, bars and restaurants. And if you, like me, have a hard time staying up until midnight, there will be a ball drop at 8pm. But don't worry, there will be another one at midnight when the new year officially begins. The Baha Men will also be performing at this free event.

The New Year's Eve celebration starts at 6pm. Have a great 2024 everyone!

I don't know where this year has gone. Especially the last few months, they have just flown by for me. Maybe it's because here in Fort Myers, with the weather unchanging that it's all a blur when one season runs right into the next. Or maybe life is just busy enough that time goes by in the blink of an eye.

There are so many ways to celebrate the end of one year and the start of a new one. My pup Rocket, is NOT a fan of loud noises. Since I've had him, I make sure I'm home at midnight when the fireworks go off. At most, I've gone out to dinner on New Year's Eve. But in recent years, I have people over. We enjoy a good time with food, drinks, games and watching the countdown on TV. It's always a great time spent with loved ones and a great way to usher in the beginning of a new year.

But maybe you're looking to get dressed up and hit the town. Champagne toasts, dancing, fireworks..there's lots of fun to be had. And if you're looking for a great place to celebrate in Fort Myers, thanks to News-Press, here's a few you're destined to have a good time at.
