You've got just over a month to train, there are 2 half marathon races coming to Southwest Florida this February. One in Venice, and the other in Naples. And both of the races feature some amazing scenery and what is typically amazing weather. There's a reason why February is my favorite month of the year. It's absolutely beautiful here.

The first of these 2 races is set to take place at the Eagle Lakes Community Park in Naples, Florida on February 3, 2024.

It's a a challenging and scenic course that winds through Eagle Lakes Community Park and the picturesque Lely Resort, showcasing the natural beauty of the area and providing breathtaking views of Florida's tropical landscape. There are 3 lengths to choose from. The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Run. If interested, sign up for the Naples Distance Classic at https://www.naplesdistanceclassic.com/

Next up is the Venice Half Marathon & 5k Run in Venice, Florida.

The event is hosted at the picturesque Maxine Barritt Park in Venice, Florida on February 17, 2024. If you're unfamiliar, this park is located right on the Gulf Of Mexico, so there should be some breeze to help cool you down - and likely reduce your time. Thanks again to everyone who came to our sold out Jingle Jog And Santa Strut earlier this month. It was an absolutely perfect morning for the event and yes, we're already planning for ways to make it even bigger next year!

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up for our first annual Jingle Jog 5K and Santa Strut Fun Run presented by My Shower Door and hosted by Beasley Media Group and Southern Timing. The run took place through the scenic pathways at Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers. We had participants from all over Southwest Florida. One runner was even rumored to have jogged across the bridge from Cape Coral to join the race. That is commitment. Or perhaps crazy, at least to non-runners. Here are some photos from the First Annual Jingle Jog And Santa Strut.

Runners began gathering at 7:30, many dressed in festive holiday gear. Not only did we have an elf but also Santa and Mrs. Claus showed up. They congratulated and offered up high-fives to runners as they crossed the finish line, helped hand out the medals and posed for photos before heading back to the North Pole.

A portion of the proceeds from the race go to benefit Golisano Children's Hospital. It was nice to see so many kids participate in the race with their parents and on their own. Besides running with the human kids, one participant ran with her four legged child and both finished in flying colors.

Thank you to My Shower Door for being our title sponsor. In addition, The Good Feet Store, Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee, Signs In One Day, Florida Blue, and Bikram Yoga Fort Myers joined in as corporate sponsors.

Packet pick up was sponsored by Fleet Feet, Fort Myers. Last, but certainly not least, big thanks to Brew Box Coffee Company for fueling us with piping hot coffee and hot chocolate. It was a cool, damp start to the morning. We could not have done it without all of your help. And, we can't wait to do it again next year.
