Playing your muci too loud in Sumter County can be a costly mistake. Just ask today's Florida man, 36 year-old, Eduardo Sanchez Ruiz. He decided to add a punchline to his playlist by allegedly punching a guy in the face and swiping his phone. Why, you ask? Well, turns out the victim had the audacity to blast music too loudly. I mean, who knew that could lead to a face-to-fist encounter?
According to FOX35 in all went down at a Sumter County residence over the weekend. Our victim, just trying to enjoy some tunes and a cold one. However they ended up with a swollen eye, facial abrasions, and a missing $5,000. Dang! Never blast your favorite tunes in the presence of Eduardo Sanchez Ruiz!
Deputies, being the party crashers they are, responded to the scene and found Sanchez Ruiz taking a siesta in the backseat of a truck parked at the house. That's when they uncovered the victim's phone in his pocket. Just like magic. Evidence.
Now, details about the tussle are sketchy, with the affidavit looking like it went through a "highlight and delete" spree. Allegedly, the victim was accused of throwing things, pushing, and blocking. Classic domestic drama stuff.
A witness, doing his best to ignore the chaos, claimed the two were arguing about the volume of the music. When he finally turned around, it was a face-off on the floor. Maybe they were practicing a new dance move, but I'm pretty sure it was a scuffle. The witness to the mele insisted the victim didn't play bouncer and block the alleged punch artist from leaving.
So, Eduardo Sanchez Ruiz, the self-appointed musical vigilante, now resides in the Sumter County Detention Center, with a playlist that hopefully includes a mix of regret and "Jailhouse Rock." His bond? A cool $4,000. Who knew playing tunes too loud could be so expensive?
