Florida Takes 2 Top Spots as the ‘Most Fun’ Cities in America
Some people find fun in exploring new dining options, traveling, frequenting bars and clubs, or participating in outdoor sports. Others find pleasure in activities like riding roller coasters, watching movies, or playing video games.
To help Americans identify cities with diverse fun yet cost-effective options, WalletHub, a financial advice website, compared over 180 U.S. cities based on 65 key metrics. These metrics include factors such as the availability of fitness centers per capita, movie costs, and the average business hours of breweries.
Florida snags two top spots for most fun cities.
Florida has two cities in the top three rankings, which include Orlando and Miami. Orlando claims the second position as the nation’s second-most fun city, largely due to its abundance of amusement parks such as Disney World and Universal Studios. The study found that while some expect high accommodation costs in Orlando, it reveals that the markup associated with amusement parks doesn’t necessarily extend outside of the city. Orlando offers one of the lowest nightly rates for a 3-star hotel room, as indicated by the study. Additionally, the city features relatively affordable prices for essential fun foods like pizza and burgers.
Securing the third spot as the U.S.’s third most fun city, Miami stands out for its stunning beaches, making it a particularly popular destination for spring-breakers, as highlighted by the study. Miami excels as the top city in the U.S. for boat tours and water sports. The study notes that the city is an ideal haven for outdoor enthusiasts and is near unique natural attractions such as the Everglades. Interestingly, over 88% of Miami’s residents reside within half a mile of a park, according to the study.
Other Florida cities making the list include Tampa (#17), Fort Lauderdale (#18), Jacksonville (#37), St. Petersburg (#38), Tallahassee (#82) Cape Coral (#100), Hialeah (#135), Pembroke Pines (#142), and Port St. Lucie (#149).

5 Florida Cities Named Best Babymoon Destinations
If you are looking for a quick getaway to savor the invaluable moments of sleeping in, or going out to dinner, you may want to consider staying within the Bay State. Sixt recently published the 20 best destinations for a babymoon in the United States, and five Florida cities made the list.
“When you’re expecting, many couples want to plan one last vacation or adventure before their baby arrives to enjoy time together, just the two of them,” Sixt explains. They also detail how their data has shown, “Searches for ‘affordable babymoon destinations’ have increased by 300% in the past twelve months. Similarly, search trends for ‘what is a babymoon’ have soared by 250%.”
To determine the best places in the country to take a babymoon, Sixt identified six different categories. They then used these topics to examine each city. As a result, they assigned a score and totaled them up. The categories were; happiness, safety, leisure activities, scenic views, friendliness, food, and drink.
What Exactly Is A Babymoon?
Being able to eat uninterrupted and with both hands will soon be considered a luxury. A babymoon is all about relaxation and spending quality time together. “This is a great opportunity to celebrate the new adventures on the way while taking care of yourself and your own needs,” Healthline explained in their recent “What Is a Babymoon?” story.
“For the most memorable experience, try to plan a babymoon when you feel your best, which for many women is during their second trimester,” Healthline states when discussing when to take a babymoon.
In Florida, the five destinations that ranked among the top 20 places to go for a babymoon are all very different from each other. Sixt ranked Kissimmee as the 2oth best babymoon destination, and Miami came in at number nineteen. Three other Florida locations made the top twenty, with two landing in the top 10.
