THE MOST FAMOUS SPORTS BLOOPER OF ALL TIME
Most Famous Sports Blooper of all Time? Well, it happened on this date in 1964 in San Fransisco. The Vikings led the 49ers 27-17 in the 4th quarter and it seemed Minnesota was on its way to a W! And to make matters worse for the 49ers, they fumbled the ball and the Vikings Jim Marshall recovered it. He started running to the end zone. However, it was the wrong end zone and everybody but Marshall knew it. The 49ers were awarded a 2 point safety on the play. But the good news for Marshall is that the Vikings held on to win 27-22.
MOST FAMOUS SPORTS BLOOPER
By the way, despite the blooper that he is known for, Marshall was a very good player. He played 20 years, made two Pro Bowls and helped lead the Vikings to many Super Bowl appearances.
