From the ring to the restaurant, UFC’s Tito Ortiz has a new business venture in Cape Coral.
In the world of mixed martial arts (MMA), there are few names that resonate as strongly as Tito Ortiz. Inside the UFC’s Octagon, Tito Ortiz became a force to be reckoned with. Whether it was his memorable walkouts, trash talk or fierce intensity during fights, Ortiz always left an impression. During his championship reign, Ortiz successfully defended his title five times.
Outside of fighting, Tito Ortiz has done a wide variety of different things. He started a clothing line called Punishment Athletics Enterprises and runs a management company. He also has been involved in politics, serving as a city council member in his hometown of Huntington Beach. And now he will take on a new endeavor opening a restaurant in Cape Coral.
Tito Ortiz came to Southwest Florida shortly after Hurricane Ian and moved his family here from California in December. Since then, he’s been working on a new business, Tito’s Cantina Tequila Bar & Grille, which is expected to open on Cape Coral Parkway later this month in the building that housed Nice Guys and The Spot. Ortiz told News Press that he’s been cooking for 25 years and the menu will be authentic Southern California Mexican food. Expect tacos, burritos, ceviche, tostadas, quesadillas and more.
