The Boston Celtics extended their season with a Game 4 win over the Miami Heat. The Celtics were able to extend their season with a 116-99 win in Game 4, and avoided a sweep at the hands of the Heat.
The Celtics are the 19th team in NBA history to trail 3-0 in a best-of-7 series and play Game 4 on the road (excluding the bubble); they’re just the 5th of those to win and the 1st to win by double digits.
How Did The Boston Celtics Do It?
The Celtics were able to get a big boost in Game 4 with improved shooting. Boston is 37-2 this season when making 40% or more of their 3-pointers and they did so in Game 4.
7 of those 18 makes came in the 3rd quarter, but the type of looks changed in Game 4. The Celtics shot 66 percent on uncontested looks, where they shot 40 percent on those looks in Game 3.
Jayson Tatum finished the Game 4 win with 33 points, 11 rebounds & 7 assists, it was his 6th game this postseason with 30 points, 10 rebounds & 5 assists.
That ties Nikola Jokic for the most this postseason and 2nd-most in any postseason in NBA history.
More Tatum Terrific Numbers
Tatum also recorded his 8th 30-point game this postseason, the 2nd-most in a single postseason in Celtics history. Only Larry Bird had more in 1987 (11).
Tatum led all players on both teams in points, rebounds and assists. According to Elias, he is the 2nd player in Celtics history to do that in multiple playoff games, joining Larry Bird (3x).
Tatum also passed Paul Pierce on the Celtics all-time list for most made 3-pointers in postseason history, with Jaylen Brown not far behind in 4t place on the list.
Home Not Very Kind Lately For The Boston Celtics
The Celtics go back home for Game 5, but over the last 2 postseasons, they are 10-11 at home.
Excluding the Bubble, the Celtics are the only team in NBA postseason history to have an under .500 record over a 2-postseason span at home (min. 15 home games).
In addition, they have 11 losses at home over the last 2 postseasons, the most over a 2-postseason span in NBA history.
Lots more on this game today on Shemon and Sheppard 2-6pm.
Looking For Parking At The Miami Heat Game? Expect To Pay Up To $150
With the Miami Heat dominating the Boston Celtics in the NBA Playoffs, tickets to see them live can be a bit pricey. But one thing that can be overlooked is how much money everyone outside the arena is looking to make. Local parking prices are matching the play of the Miami Heat.
Before we get to that, parking in Miami is always a bit pricey. Paying $30 to park on a pothole laden piece of land to see the Miami Dolphins play is a bit of a bargain. Valet parking on South Beach starts at $50. The Bayside Marketplace parking garage is usually around $30. Until there is a playoff game and everyone's looking to get rich. Miami Heat parking is showing that.
The Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics Tuesday night at 8:30. The Heat lead the series 3-0 and if you watched the last game, it clearly looks like the Celtics have given up. Tuesday night should close out the series and send the Heat to the Finals. No word on what that will do to the prices parking garages will charge. Bayside Marketplace is full of really nice shops and places to eat. It's a short walk to the Kaseya Center. And if you think this was a spur of the moment decision to charge $100 for parking, nah. They had that sign printed and ready to go.
Here's a sign at Bayside Marketplace
Normally this sign shows $30. I guess this is their 'playoff price'. One comment said it went up to $150 closer to game time.
