As the temperatures go up, it's crucial to cool down so for Try It Tuesday, I decided to try the new Mountain Dew Summer Freeze.
It's happening here in Fort Myers. Not only is it getting hotter, but the humidity is ramping up too. It's important to cool down where you can and sometimes an ice cold beverage will do the trick. With a name like Summer Freeze, I decided to put the new flavor of Mountain Dew to the test.
I've always been a fan of the seasonal Mountain Dew flavors. I only do the zero sugar versions, so that's the one I can comment on for sure. This one may be my new fave next to Baja Blast. If you think back to when you were a kid and the ice cream truck rolled on through the neighborhood, maybe a favorite was a bomb pop. Well, the Mountain Dew Summer Freeze will take you on a trip down memory lane. And I love that the can screams summer fun. With flavors of cherry, lemon and raspberry, their website says it "tastes like the best summer of your life."
I think even more than the can, it's BLUE! (and yes, sometimes I drink soda from a champs glass, it's fine.)
Living in Florida, we like the heat. Freezing doesn't sound fun, unless it's in the form of the Mountain Dew Summer Freeze. If you like fun flavors, give this a shot. It'll cool ya down in all the right ways. And yes, if you were wondering, it DOES turn your tongue blue!
Southwest Florida Beach Makes List Of Best Family Beach Vacation Destinations
We have so many beautiful beaches in Southwest Florida and one in particular has made a list of the best family beach vacation destinations.
Living in Southwest Florida, we're so lucky to have so many options when it comes to beaches- Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva, Bonita Beach, Naples, Marco Island. Lucky for us that live here, the hardest decision is which one to spend our days at.
I've been going to Sanibel every Sunday for my beach days. It's sad to see all the destruction on the island as a whole, but the beaches are so beautiful and the water is so blue and clear (and getting warmer!) A lot of businesses are reopening as well, so you have options for dining, lodging and things to do.
I'm not the only one who loves the island. Southern Living has put together their list of the best family beach vacation destinations and Sanibel made the list. The magazine said of the island "For a lowkey Florida beach vacation, Sanibel Island could be the ticket. Known as the Shelling Capital of the World, take an early morning walk with your little collector and see how many of the ocean’s treasures you can uncover along the gently lapping waves."
You can see the full list here, but below are the top 10.
