FLA Live Arena Is The Cheapest In The League To Watch an NHL Game
The Florida Panthers have a 1 game to nothing lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the best of seven series. Game 2 is Thursday May 4th in Canada before the series comes to Sunrise, Florida at FLA Live Arena for game 3 on Sunday. Maybe you’re on the fence as to whether or not to head out to the game or watch it on tv. Well, research shows that there is no better bargain in the NHL than a Panthers home game.
First off, obviously ticket prices for playoff games are going to be higher. A casual glance at Ticketmaster shows Sunday playoff ticket prices at FLA Arena starting at $187 each. In Toronto, playoff tickets start at $361. With the fun Canadian money, that’d be 3 brown ones, a red one, a purple one, and a Loonie.
Keep in mind that if you buy tickets from Ticketmaster that they will also add in a TON of fees, so check for better options.
So it costs roughly half as much to buy a weekend playoff ticket at FLA Live Arena as it does to watch a Thursday game in Canada.
That bargain isn’t just for the playoffs. FLA Live Arena is a bargain all through the season. New research from Betway revealed the cheapest cities for gameday. They factored in ticket prices, the cost of beer and soft drinks, as well as the price for a hotdog at each arena.
- The FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, home to the Florida Panthers, is considerably the cheapest in the league, with average ticket prices as low as $62.23.
- A family of 4 can expect to enjoy a game for a moderate $222.04 in Sunrise – 71% cheaper than the NHL average ($380.93).
- Fans in Toronto, ranking 32nd on the list, can expect to pay a sizeable amount more compared to fans in Florida, with all costs for a family of 4 amassing to a whopping $632.68!

*The price for families is put together for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). The price includes the average price for 4 tickets and 4 hotdogs, as well as 2 beers for the adults and 2 soft drinks for the children.
Methodology:
The original research ranks 32 cities across the USA and Canada, based on how passionate they are about the NHL. These 32 cities were chosen as they have an NHL team in the 2023 league. Nine different factors were used to rank each city, and once the factors were collected, they were then normalized to provide each factor with a score between 0 and 1. The normalized values were then summed, to give each city a total score out of 9.
The data gathered is correct as of 03/31/2023. The most recent data possible was used in compiling this dataset. All current figures are in USD.
