Dave Portnoy Visited Low Brow Pizza & Beer in Naples, So I Did Too
Last year Dave Portnoy visited Low Brow Pizza & Beer in Naples. So, naturally when I was leaving my daughter's soccer game last week just around the corner, we figured we had to give it a try. And, it did not disappoint.
Sure, Dave Portnoy is a pro, so he's a little more harsh than a family meeting up for dinner and a couple of beers on a Tuesday night, but here's what I thought about the ambience, food and service.
We were quickly greeted and seated at a table for 6. The place was pretty crowded for a Tuesday night at like 5:45pm.
Our server Sawyer was awesome! He went over the menu in detail, gave us his recommendations, and we placed our orders.
Right off the bat, we knew we had to start off with the pizza bones. They're a fried and wood-fired pizza dough with garlic butter and parmesan, served with a side of cheesy parmesan queso and the house marinara. The pizza bones were TO DIE FOR and a MUST HAVE for anyone who stops in.
Next up, we tried the Dad Bod salad, which is large enough for the table to share, and the Fustercluck wings. The salad was reminiscent of the Olive Garden except better, topped with fresh salami and those delish pizza bones in smaller crouton sized bites. Another win. The Fustercluck wings were definitely my favorite food we tried, crispy with just enough heat and not too messy, which I can really appreciate.
As though we had not eaten enough, we couldn't leave without the pizza. The table decided on the Facemelter, topped with pepperoni arrabiata, hot coppa, mozzarella, ricotta, sweet peppers and house hot honey drizzle. But one pizza wouldn't be enough, so we also got the Maggie's Brother pizza, topped with house red sauce, basil, fresh and aged mozzarella, sausage. The Facemelter was spicy...it's all in the name. Crispy crust, fresh ingredients, just enough cheese. Another win.
Overall, our experience was great! When Portnoy visited last year, he gave them a 7.1, which is pretty damn good on his One Bite scale. Scroll down to see Dave Portnoy's review and also check out the Baby Yoda painting he actually bought off of their wall on his visit.

Dave Portnoy, creator of Barstool Sports and famed pizza reviewer, has been to a few pizza shops in Southwest Florida in the last year or so.
His online pizza reviews called 'One Bite Pizza Reviews' have added to his Barstool fame. He rates pizzas from around the US on a scale of one to 10. Part of his criteria is how much grease it has or "the flop", and he's always looking for a well-done "undercarriage." His favorite style is Neapolitan with no toppings, only cheese. His ratings are brutally honest and don't always make for the happiest local owners. If you're in the 7 range, consider yourself to have a good slice.
