Today, March 20th, is a special day. It's Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen here in Southwest Florida!
It's a tradition loved by many and today is the day. Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen! That's right, Dairy Queen is giving away free ice cream cones to everyone who stops by on Monday, March 20th. So, grab your spoons, get in line, and prepare for a brain freeze.
One of my favorite Free Cone Day experiences was when I lived in North Dakota. For some reason, between Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN (which are as close at Fort Myers/Cape Coral) there's like 14 DQ's. So, we got in the car and stopped at every single one of them. They're all within about 20 minutes of each other so the drive was bearable but think about how much ice cream that was. Thankfully, there was a carful of us to share with, but by the end, I didn't think I'd ever be able to eat ice cream again. The good thing is that that thought passed and ice cream remains one of my favorite foods.
March 20th is the first day of Spring, so it's a perfect way to celebrate the start of a new season. And according to their website, all you have to do is show up and order! You'll get a free small vanilla cone. And not just in SWFL, but in Dairy Queen's around the country.
And if that's not enough, Dairy Queen also just announced a new treat: a churro dipped cone. Take that delicious vanilla ice cream and add cinnamon-sugar topping.
