The Kansas City Chiefs overcome Jalen Hurts with 2nd half adjustments to win Super Bowl 57.  It was a tale of two halves for the Chiefs, but in the end, Patrick Mahomes and company have another championship.

The Chiefs secured their 3rd Super Bowl in franchise history after overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit. They became the 6th team in Super Bowl history to overcome a 10-point deficit and win. They did so with a near perfect 2nd half, which was needed to top Jalen Hurts’ record-setting effort.

The Chiefs trailed by 10 at halftime of Super Bowl LVII, but played a nearly perfect half to complete the comeback.

The Chiefs scored on all 4 of their 2nd-half drives, totaling 24 points. They joined the Eagles in Super Bowl LII as the only teams to score on every one of their 2nd-half drives in a Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes went 13-of-14 in the 2nd half, with the lone incompletion coming a throw away into the end zone. Mahomes is the 3rd starting QB to complete at least 90% of his passes after halftime in a Super Bowl.

Quicker throw: Mahomes averaged 2.46 seconds to throw in the 2nd half after averaging 2.93 seconds in the 1st half. Mahomes was 13-of-13 with 2 TD on throws within 2.5 seconds for the game.

Connected with WRs: Mahomes went 9-of-9 for 69 yards and 2 TD to his WR in the 2nd half after going 2-of-5 for 11 yards in the 1st half. The Chiefs’ 11 Rec yds by WRs were the fewest in the 1st half of a Super Bowl since the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV (9).

Beat pressure: Mahomes went 3-of-4 when pressured and 3-of-3 from outside the pocket in the 2nd half Sunday. He went 0-of-5 when pressured and 0-of-3 from outside the pocket in the 1st half.

All of the adjustments helped keep the heat off Mahomes. He was pressured 49 times in his first 2 Super Bowl appearances, including a record 29 times in the loss to the Buccaneers. He was pressured 11 times Sunday as the Chiefs made more of an effort to run more and get the ball out quicker.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the Super Bowl LVII champions. The game took place in Glendale, Arizona at the State Farm Stadium on Sunday (Feb. 12). The Chiefs were victorious over the Philadelphia Eagles winning 38 to 35. Here's some photos taken from sideline photographer Christian Petersen.

The Eagles led for most of the game until the fourth quarter when Patrick Mahomes had his second touchdown pass of the game. Going into the fourth quarter, the Chiefs led 28-27. The Chiefs extended the lead with a 65-yard punt return by Kadarius Toney. They then took the lead, 35-27. Once the Eagles gained back possession of the ball, Jalen Hurts made his third rushing touchdown of the night and he later scored a two-point conversion to tie the game. After that, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker kicked a field goal with just 11 seconds left on the clock, with the final score ending in 38-35.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes received the Super Bowl 57 MVP after leading his team to victory. This trophy goes along with the league MVP trophy he had already won at the end of the season.
