Food Network Names The Best BBQ Restaurant in Florida.
If you’re looking for some of the best barbecue in the state of Florida, look no further than Jenkins Quality Barbecue in Jacksonville. Founded in 1957 by Melton Jenkins, Jr. and his wife, Willie Mae, this popular BBQ spot has been dishing out delicious, slow-cooked meats for decades. In fact, The Food Network recently named Jenkins Quality Barbecue the top BBQ restaurant in all of Florida.
BBQ Florida:
One of the things that sets Jenkins Quality Barbecue apart from other BBQ joints in the South is the fact that it has no defined barbecue regions. Instead, each individual barbecue restaurant in Florida has its own unique style and techniques. According to WFLA, at Jenkins Quality Barbecue, the ribs, half chickens, and pork are smoked with oak in open brick pits and topped with the restaurant’s signature spicy mustard sauce. If you’re not a fan of spicy foods, don’t worry. Jenkins Quality Barbecue also offers a milder version of the sauce.
In addition to its delicious barbecue, Jenkins Quality Barbecue has a rich history. The restaurant was founded with just $125 and a dream, and it has since grown to three locations throughout Jacksonville. Today, the second and third generations of the Jenkins family continue the tradition of serving up top-quality meats and sauces.
So the next time you’re in Florida and craving some mouth-watering barbecue, be sure to stop by Jenkins Quality Barbecue. With its delicious meats, unique sauces, and rich history, it’s sure to become your new favorite BBQ spot. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
20 Florida Diners Drive-Ins and Dives With Guy Fieri
Living in Florida, we know we have a ton of choices when it comes to good food. Especially here in Southwest Florida. Think of all of the delicious restaurants on Sanibel and Captiva islands, in Downtown Ft. Myers, on 5th Avenue in Naples or in many of the malls in the area like Gulf Coast Town Center and Bell Tower. Although many of the island restaurants are still recovering from Hurricane Ian, many have reopened. But, have you tried any of these places Guy Fieri went to on his popular Food Network show, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives? If not, you should.
I’m not a big cook, however I’m obsessed with the Food Network and one of my favorite shows is Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.” Not only has it given me some great ideas on places to try, but it’s also fun to see what each place offers. And my list keeps getting longer especially since 67 Florida restaurants have been featured. Guy obviously loves being down here in Florida.
If you want to see a list of ALL the restaurants featured on the show, TVFoodmaps.com has a full list. But, out of the 67 in Florida, not all of them are still open. Let’s take a local angle for those of us in the Fort Myers/Naples area. So, here are 20 ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’ restaurants closest to us in SWFL (in order by mileage).
If Guy Fieri loves these places, we’ve got to give them a shot. Here are 20 Florida Diners Drive-Ins and Dives With Guy Fieri.
