Come to Florida and Get Struck by Lightning

Taal Volcano Erupts In The Philippines

TAGAYTAY, PHILIPPINES – JANUARY 12: Lightning strikes as a column of ash surrounds the crater of Taal Volcano as it erupts on January 12, 2020 as seen from Tagaytay city, Cavite province, Philippines. Local authorities have begun evacuating residents near Taal Volcano as it began spewing ash up to a kilometer high Sunday afternoon. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has raised the alert level to four out of five, warning that a hazardous eruption could take place anytime. (Photo by Ezra Acayan/Getty Images)

Come to Florida and Get Struck by Lightning.

Are you tired of the same old Florida vacations filled with sunshine, beaches, and theme parks? Well, have we got the adventure for you! Introducing the ultimate thrill ride: getting hit by lightning in the Sunshine State!Sure, you might be thinking, "But isn't lightning dangerous?" Well, duh. But where's the fun in safe vacations? Besides, Floridians are no strangers to danger. We brave alligators in our swimming pools, hurricanes that turn our streets into rivers, and tourists who drive on the wrong side of the road. What's a little lightning compared to all that? But seriously, folks. Lightning is no joke.

Florida Lightning:

With 285 lightning strikes per square mile in 2022, Florida emerges as the clear winner when it comes to most lightning. The Four Corners region, where Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Polk counties meet, was named the "lightning capital" of the United States according to a report from Vaisala.

In Florida, we have an average of 10 lightning-related deaths per year, and many more injuries. And it's not just tourists who are at risk. Even the most seasoned Floridians can get caught off guard by a sudden thunderstorm. So how do you avoid getting struck by lightning in Florida? It's simple: just follow the same safety tips you would anywhere else. Seek shelter when thunderstorms are in the forecast, avoid tall objects and metal surfaces, and stay away from windows and doors.

And if you do get caught in a thunderstorm, crouch down low to the ground and cover your ears. Trust us, you don't want to be caught singing "I Can't Feel My Face" when the lightning starts striking. So there you have it, folks. Don't let the fear of getting struck by lightning rain on your Florida vacation. Just use common sense and stay safe, and you can enjoy all the sun, sand, and sea that the Sunshine State has to offer.

30 Companies Hiring for Part Time Work From Home Jobs In Florida

Let's face it, inflation is beating us up. For me, it's an extra $50 a month for health insurance, the cable and internet bill doubled and home owners insurance is about to make my mortgage payment go up. I just don't know how much, yet. Could be hundreds a month. And let's not forget, you gotta eat. Publix put the Chicken Tender Sub on sale and today's sale price is about the same as last year's regular price. This is not fun. Jobs In Florida don't come with the pay increases needed to keep up with inflation.

Add in the fact that our area in Southwest Florida took a huge hit from Hurricane Ian and a lot of businesses down here simply don't exist anymore. So much for picking up some part time hours. So where can you find a little extra income to help make ends meet? This falls into the category of "I don't need a different job, I need another job."

I found a decent amount of these types of jobs on flexjobs. There's a wide variety of skills these companies are looking for, so maybe something fits you.

So what do you need for these Jobs In Florida?

Just checking a few of these it looks like they want you to have a dedicated work space. Some ask that you have an ethernet cable plugged in to your computer and not wifi. Do some research, everything starts off with having a good resume. And not all of these will be exactly what you're looking for. Maybe none of them are. But this should get you a good start. I picked out one or two of the jobs available for each listing, but there's always more. Good luck!
