In Florida, we have an average of 10 lightning-related deaths per year, and many more injuries. And it's not just tourists who are at risk. Even the most seasoned Floridians can get caught off guard by a sudden thunderstorm.
So how do you avoid getting struck by lightning in Florida? It's simple: just follow the same safety tips you would anywhere else. Seek shelter when thunderstorms are in the forecast, avoid tall objects and metal surfaces, and stay away from windows and doors.

And if you do get caught in a thunderstorm, crouch down low to the ground and cover your ears. Trust us, you don't want to be caught singing "I Can't Feel My Face" when the lightning starts striking.

Let's face it, inflation is beating us up. For me, it's an extra $50 a month for health insurance, the cable and internet bill doubled and home owners insurance is about to make my mortgage payment go up. I just don't know how much, yet. Add in the fact that our area in Southwest Florida took a huge hit from Hurricane Ian and a lot of businesses down here simply don't exist anymore. So much for picking up some part time hours. So where can you find a little extra income to help make ends meet? This falls into the category of "I don't need a different job, I need another job."

I found a decent amount of these types of jobs on flexjobs. There's a wide variety of skills these companies are looking for, so maybe something fits you.

Just checking a few of these it looks like they want you to have a dedicated work space. Some ask that you have an ethernet cable plugged in to your computer and not wifi. Do some research, everything starts off with having a good resume. And not all of these will be exactly what you're looking for. Maybe none of them are. But this should get you a good start. I picked out one or two of the jobs available for each listing, but there's always more. Good luck!

Medical coding. Can you type fast and very accurate?

Virtual assistants, social media managers. You really don't have to be in the office to do these jobs anymore.

Legal assistants. Bi-lingual a definite plus.

Math tutors, other instructors.

Trusts, estate planning. They were also looking for someone who knows Florida family law.

Business to business lead generation. Sounds like phone and email skills are what's needed.

They're looking for seasoned pros in various fields who are looking for a side gig. I saw "Director Of Operations", and some marketing things open.

Video and blog editors. Still got that student version of Premiere Pro? Put it to use.

Childcare coordinators. They help people find the right childcare. Like if Mrs. Doubtfire had an agent.

Writers, analysts, and more.

Instructors. You're going to see a lot of need for that on this list.

A lot of things, right now it looks like they need interpreters. Kelly Staffing has a lot of everything.

Interpreters. I should have paid more attention in Spanish class.

Content moderation. Really, you'll be moderating content on platforms like Tik Tok.

Writing test questions, preparing others for tests.

Administrative assistants. There's really no need for you to be in the office anymore.

Providing for educators.

Education related. As I said earlier, there's a lot of this.

A LOT of different jobs. RHI is one of the biggest staffing agencies. graphic designer, administrative assistant and a lot more.

Education related

Book keeping and accounting.

Online therapy. You don't need an office with a couch, just Face Time.

Language translation. Google translate is far from perfect. Actual people are needed.

Transcriptionists.

Providing content for educators.

Tutors. Can you teach outside of a classroom?

More online education. If you're a teacher looking some work on the side, this list has been ideal for you.

Bi and multi-lingual people needed.

Customer support. Bi-lingual especially.
