In a press release issued by Charlotte County, it was determined that the Charlotte Sports Park will not host the Tampa Bay Rays upcoming spring training in 2023. From the press release:

Charlotte County and the Tampa Bay Rays joint statement regarding spring training at Charlotte Sports Park:

Following a joint assessment of the damage to Charlotte Sports Park caused by Hurricane Ian, Charlotte County and the Tampa Bay Rays have determined there is not adequate time before the Rays 2023 spring training is scheduled to begin to get the park in suitable condition to host games. Charlotte County supports the Rays efforts to secure alternative accommodations for 2023 spring training.

We are all disappointed for the residents of Charlotte County and the fans there. The community is in the thoughts and hearts of the Rays, and the team will continue to support recovery efforts.

The Rays and Charlotte County intend to develop a restoration plan for Charlotte Sports Park in the coming weeks.

Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training was definitely a concern after Hurricane Ian hit the area.

Where the Tampa Bay Rays will hold 2023 spring training has not yet been announced. As for the Red Sox and Twins facilities in Fort Myers, there's still some unknown. I drove past Jet Blue shortly after the hurricane and definitely saw damage to some front gates. The Red Sox schedule shows an exhibition game scheduled in Fort Myers March 8th.

As for the Twins, Century Link did have some damage and served as an emergency vehicle staging area after the hurricane. Those games should also go on as scheduled.

There Was Another UFO Sighting In Bradenton Florida, Unknown Craft Photographed Doing ‘At Least 500 MPH’

Bradenton, Florida is starting be known as a UFO town. No, that picture above isn't real. I made that in Photoshop. We're talking about an incident earlier this month that's adding to the Bradenton UFO lore. Bradenton Beach Police Officer Charles Morose was doing a normal patrol along Coquina Beach when he looked up. After that things got interesting.

Along with a Coast Guard plane, he saw something else. Officer Morose told the Anna Maria Sun “I saw a Coast Guard plane flying over the bay, then I watch them turn back toward the Gulf. I thought what the heck is that as I look up and saw a big black thing in the sky. I’m estimating based on the size of the plane in the sky, it was at least the size of a car, or maybe a small aircraft.”

Morose believes he was not the only one who saw the UFO. He says that the Coast Guard plane turned around as if to pursue the unknown object. The object, which until then had remained stationary, suddenly "shot off like a rocket toward the horizon and it was just gone." The officer said that the object "had to be moving at least 500 mph." He fortunately got a picture before it took off.

According to the Anna Maria Sun, who has the picture "The Sun reached out to the Cortez Coast Guard detachment, who forwarded the inquiry to their public relations department. After calls to multiple departments, we were told they would reach out if they had any information, claiming there was no incident reported in the area on the date and time reported by Morose."

UFO sightings in Bradenton Florida have been common.

For instance, there's tweets that date back to 2010. As a result, will Bradenton become the next Area 51 for the UFO crowd. With white sand beaches and E.T in the skies it could be quite a draw.

Many people have claimed to see UFOs in the area. What sets this latest one apart is that there's a picture. And it's a police officer who took it.

UFO sightings here are not uncommon, here's a tweet from September
