Florida Man At Disney World Punches Girlfriend In Chest And Knocks Baby Out Of Stroller
Florida Man Matthew Johnston of Port St. Lucie was arrested at Disney World after he was accused of punching his girlfriend in the chest. Witnesses at the scene at Hollywood Studios said the man appeared to be drunk and arguing with his girlfriend. According to WDW News today, citing the domestic violence arrest report interview of two bystanders “They both witnessed Matthew punch (his girlfriend) in the chest with a closed fist and then attempt to push her away from the stroller so he could take the baby. They then observed Matthew aggressively grab the stroller from (his girlfriend) and saw (the baby) fall from the stroller.”
Matthew had reportedly been drinking and had gotten into an argument with an unnamed person. The girlfriend's father and brother who were also along suggested that it was time to leave which further angered Matthew. Johnston reacted by “ripping the car seat from the stroller, causing (the baby) to fall from the car seat,” the brother said in the report.
Johnston was arrested and taken to Orange County Jail. The girlfriend did not press charges and according to a July 25 court filing he will not be prosecuted. The baby was not injured.
The key takeaway from the Florida Man story here is that the kid isn't hurt. What's going on at Disney with the fighting? Remember this one? Drunk Sisters Brawl Naked At Disney Springs

Florida Resident Discount:
New Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Florida Resident Discounts In Effect From July 8 Through September 8
If you're thinking of taking the family to Disney World this summer, check out the new Florida resident discounts they just dropped. You can stay on resort for about the same amount as one of the hotels down the road. And because you're at a Disney hotel, you can bus to whatever park you're going to and keep the car parked. This allows you to have a few drinks and not worry about how you're getting back to the hotel. Score! There are some rules, as reported by wdwnt: "The number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited. Additional per-adult charges may apply if there are more than two adults per room at Disney Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, and Studios at Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts. Advance reservations are required. This offer cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion. The offer excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom villas and The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Proof of Florida residency is required at check-in and length of stay requirements may apply."
I'm putting the lowest rate on here for the Disney World Florida Resident Discount. Based on your situation (what you tell them when you book the room) your rate may be higher. And tax, of course.
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort - $129/night
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort - $129/night
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort - $129/night
Other hotels with Florida resident summer rate deals
These rooms are discounted, but you're probably not going to find that $129 rate on that list. My favorite at $603/night is the Savanna View at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you've got the cash for it - it's an experience of a lifetime.
