Love is quite literally in the air! Ever wanted to join the "Mile High club" but could never go through with it ? Well, now your fantasy could become a reality, as a plane charter company has made it all possible -- and legal.
Love Cloud, based in Las Vegas, has two private planes awaiting couples wanting to have sex in the sky for 45 minutes at $995 a ticket. The aircrafts are both decked out with a twin mattress on the floor and several pillows, all covered in red satin. There is also a sound system, lighting system and sex position pillows to set the mood.
Andy Johnson, founder of Love Cloud, launched the service to "help keep people from divorcing" according to the New York Times. He said, "You come with a smile on your face, and you leave with a bigger smile on your face."
A pilot wears noise-cancelling headphones and stays in the cockpit for the entirety of the flight to give passengers privacy. Once the plane has reached a mile in elevation, the pilot will tell passengers they can take off their seat belts so they can get down to business. After the flight, couples are presented with a commemorative membership card signed by the pilot as a souvenir from the trip. The plane and its bedding is then thoroughly cleaned before the next guests arrive.
Love Cloud mostly books couples, but has accommodated groups of three or four, with an additional fee of $200 per person.
Frelima Howard, 45, received the mile-high flight as a “late wedding gift from” a friend in 2016. She said of her experience, “My husband and I had joined the mile high club before, so to be able to do it privately was great. It was really nice and exclusive and private.” However, she said the 45-minute time limit wasn't long enough and added: "I never got dressed faster in my life."
Couples can upgrade to longer flights if they're willing to shell out $1,095 for 60 minutes $1,495 for 90. If joining the Mile High Club isn't for you, Love Cloud also offers in-flight weddings at $1,195. For $100 more, it can be booked for a romantic one-course meal; for $1,595, you’ll get three courses. With any package, an extra $300 will get you a bottle of bubbly and ride to the tarmac in a limousine.
