Tampa, otherwise known as Champa, has been named the best sports city in the country by The Sports Business Journal.
This honor comes after the most successful sports year in the region. The Lightning won back-to-back Stanley Cup titles; the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl and the Rays continue to be the class of the American League East.
Tampa also hosted teams that weren’t its own with the Toronto Raptors playing at Amalie Arena until they could start playing home games in Canada again in October. The Toronto Blue Jays also played in Dunedin for the second year in a row.
The Sports Business Journal also mentioned Tampa hosting two of the biggest events: WrestleMania 37 and, of course, Super Bowl LV.
