Former NFL player and Florida native Josh Bellamy has been sentenced to prison for PPP loan fraud. The Department of Justice says the 32-year-old took a $1.2 million dollar COVID relief loan for his company Drip Entertainment, LLC, but instead of using it for anything business-related, he splurged on himself in the form of jewelry and a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Bellamy also admitted to trying to get loans for his family and paying a $311,000 kickback to a co-conspirator who helped him get the cash through a fraudulent loan application.

Back in 2019 Bellamy was charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and now he has been sentenced to 37 months in federal prison and must also pay over $1.2 million in restitution.

Bellamy played football at Boca Ciega High, and then Louisville before signing with the NFL playing for Kansas City, San Diego, Washington and Chicago.
