The Ryder Cup kicked off today at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, and one shot made by Jordan Spieth nearly had him falling into Lake Michigan.

On the 17th hole, Justin Thomas landed a ball in the rough and down a cliff from the green, leaving it up to Spieth to get it onto the green. It was a beautiful shot, but he's lucky it didn't end with a dip in the lake!

That shot gave the guys the potential to win the hole, however Thomas missed the putt.

Fox News reports Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia defeated Thomas and Spieth 3&1.
