Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare announced on Wednesday there are no patients with coronavirus in the facility, according to WTXL.
This comes exactly one year since the last time the hospital had zero patients with COVID-19.
Internal Medicine and COVID-19 Unit Nurse Manager at the hospital, Jaclynn Moss, confirmed with WTXL that the last infected two patients were released on Tuesday around 5 p.m.
"Now we've actually stopped and been able to just take a deep compress and now it's kind of hitting us that we have time and what we've been through this year," said Moss. "So that's why I'm kind of like, there are no words, no words at all, but I'm also kind of cautious."
The hospital said in a statement that this was made possible "through a combination of mask-wearing, social distancing, proper hand hygiene, and vaccination efforts."
Capital Regional Medical Center, another hospital n Tallahassee, reported about 15 to 20 COVID-19 hospitalizations this month.
