The latest example happened this week when a one-word tweet convinced Bears fans that a Russell Wilson trade was imminent.
On Wednesday, NFL reporter Josina Anderson tweeted "Welp..." That's it, just "Welp....".
Somehow, that was all Bears Nation needed to whip themselves into a frenzy that Wilson was Chicago-bound.
Twitter exploded, and the chatter even had an impact on Vegas - where betting odds for Wilson's future team were temporarily taken down while the Bears' Super Bowl odds were increased.
However, sometimes a 'Welp' is just a 'Welp': Wilson remains a Seattle Seahawk - for now, at least.
