Electro, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man 3, Oh My! – The Other Identity Podcast
Maximum Carnage
Ben started the Maximum Carnage read through after a Twitter poll to decide his next challenge. Robbie, being the Spider-Man fanboy he is jumped on as well. Despite some fond memories that Ben had, the story didn’t hold well for either of the hosts. Whether it was Carnage coming across as too Saturday-morning cartoon villain with lame jokes. Or Mary Jane nagging Peter to just let people die every issue. There was too much holding it back than driving it forward. Including the idea that no matter how times someone kills, they deserve a chance to be better…and kill again and again, in Carnage’s cases. And again. If you’re looking for some Spider-Man material that is worth your time, Robbie and Ben recommend plenty. To hear exactly what they are, you’ll have to download the episode!Spider-Man 3…into the Spider-Verse?
From the moment he entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man has had all sorts of rumors and controversy following him around. A few years ago, Sony nearly took him out of the MCU all together. Now, what comes next for the Wall-Crawler could be bigger than anything we’ve seen. Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in Andrew Garfield’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is confirmed to be reprising his role. It remains to be seen if Foxx will be the same Electro or not for Spider-Man 3. He has said he won’t be blue this time so it’s possible it’s a new iteration of the character. But Dr. Strange has also been confirmed to have an appearance and lead a mentor role in Peter’s life. Could Spider-Man 3 be setting up for the multiverse and a live-action version of Into the Spider-Verse? It’s entirely possible, but as always…we’ll only know with more time. Miss last week’s episode?
