An amendment on the November ballot could raise the minimum wage in Florida.
Amendment 2: “raising Florida’s minimum wage” would make the minimum “$15 per hour on September 30th, 2026” with gradual increases starting next year, according to WESH.
Florida’s minimum wage is currently $8.56 an hour and the national minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.
"More and more folks are realizing they can't survive off the current minimum wage. They can't save money with it, and at the same time, our unemployment is based on these low wages," Rep. Anna Eskamani said.
Recent polls on Amendment 2 show that more than 60% of voters support the idea of increasing the minimum wage in Florida.
