Family of Don Lewis Offers $100K Reward In Search Of Answers In ‘Tiger King’ Cold Case
The family of Carole Baskin’s former husband, Don Lewis, is asking for the public’s help and offering a $100,000 reward, according to FOX13.
It’s because of the hit Netflix docuseries “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness” that investigators are now once again looking into the mysterious disappearance of Lewis. He has now been missing for over 20 years.
The wildly popular seven-episode series mainly focuses on Carole Baskin who is the CEO of Big Cat Rescue, and her ongoing feud with Joe Exotic, who is behind bars for allegedly trying to kill Baskin through a murder-for-hire plot.
But the docuseries sparked an interest in viewers after an entire episode was dedicated to Lewis’s vanishing. There are many theories as to what could’ve happened to Lewis but his own family has said they believe Baskin may have been involved.
Lewis was legally declared dead in 2002, but after the docuseries aired, the Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister re-opened the investigation.
“We’re just so grateful of the outpouring of support we have received from everyone. Amazingly, our little family tragedy has become your tragedy. Our search for truth has become your mission too,” said Gale Rathbone, Lewis’ youngest daughter. “We all know by now that he was not perfect. We ask that anyone with vital information come forward so progress can be made on his case.”
