It looks like Kyle Shanahan will remain at his job in San Francisco until at least 2025.

The 40-year-old head coach and the 49ers on Monday agreed to extend his tenure by signing a new, six-year deal, the team announced.

The deal supersedes the last three years of Shanahan's previous six-year contract, which he signed in 2017.

Although the value of the deal has not been disclosed, sources tell ESPN Shanahan is now among the top five highest-paid coaches in the NFL.

Prior to becoming the 49ers' top dog, Shanahan served as the offensive coordinator for no less than four teams: the Texans, Redskins, Browns and Falcons.

Has Shanahan made an obvious difference as head coach of the 49ers? Currently, who's the best coach in the NFL?
