Several contingency plans are on the table as the MLB mulls the start of its delayed season.
Among them, a geographically-adjusted schedule, having teams primarily play games in their own division as well as adding more interleague matchups.
There's also the unveiling of a universal designated hitter to the NL for 2020, according to The Athletic's Jim Bowden.
Expanding on the news, baseball insider John Heyman notes that the NL owners are against the plan, "but it could be a way to cut down on injuries in a worrisome time."
