Carnival Cruise Line Set To Resume Sailing in August

AT SEA – NOVEMBER 9: In this photo provided by the U.S. Navy, Carnival cruise ship C/V Splendor sits November 9, 2010 off the coast California. The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, was diverted from its current training maneuvers to a position south near the Carnival cruise ship to facilitate the delivery of 4,500 pounds of supplies to the cruise ship which lost power and became stranded early Monday after a fire in the engine room.

Carnival Cruise Line is ready to resume sailing starting Aug. 1 with eight of its ships only leaving from Port Canaveral, Miami, and Gavelston, Texas, according to WESH.

All other North American and Australian homeport cruises will be canceled through Aug. 31, Carnival said.

The CDC issued a no sail order in mid-March and then extended it in April amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a Tweet, Carnival said their current plan is contingent on a number of factors.
