Fort Myers Beach To Reopen For Residents On Tuesday

Fort Myers council members passed a motion Monday morning to reopen Fort Myers Beach, according to NBC2.

Fort Myers Beach will only be open to residents of the town of Fort Myers Beach at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28. Residents must have proof of residency and will only be allowed to exercise on the public portion of the beach at or below the mean high tide - between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Restrictions also include:

  • Anyone at the beach must wear a face mask.
  • No sitting on the beach; beach accessories such as towels, chairs, and coolers are not permitted.
  • Dog walking will be allowed.
  • Parking lots will remain closed.
  • Beach access will be at town-owned access points.
