Gov. Ron DeSantis Refuses To Shut Down Florida Beaches
Gov. Ron DeSantis announced he refuses to shut down Florida beaches despite growing coronavirus concerns, according to NBC News.
DeSantis instead signed an order that would limit parties on beaches to 10 people per group, NBCNews reported. The order would also force any business authorized to sell liquor to reduce occupancy by half.
Earlier this week, videos and photos went viral across social media showcasing how packed Clearwater Beach was with people despite “social distancing” recommendations.

Multiple local governments including Miami have already closed beaches across the state amid the coronavirus outbreak. DeSantis asked local governments to follow the latest guidelines issued by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
