More than two dozen horse trainers, veterinarians, and other horse racing professionals have been charged in an international doping scandal

27 people were charged Monday in Manhattan federal court for distributing and administering performance-enhancing drugs, then covering it up with false paperwork.

The charges include the trainer for champion Maximum Security, who finished first at the 2019 Kentucky Derby before being disqualified for interference.
