A tornado struck Tennessee early Tuesday morning killing at least eight people and injuring many more, according to NBC News.
The severe weather destroyed dozens of homes and many households and businesses were left without power, NBC reported.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee called the loss of life and damage "heartbreaking," according to ABC News. East Nashville and the suburb of Mt. Juliet were hit particularly hard.
