Little Leagues Banning Astros’ Nickname
Little leagues throughout the U.S. are dropping or outright banning the nickname “Astros” in the wake of Houston’s sign-stealing scandal.
Little league teams in California, New York and Pennsylvania have dropped their “Astros” nickname since it send the wrong message to kids. One league leader in Pennsylvania told The Washington Post “Our pledge is to play fair and strive to win and win or lose I will always do my best. It would not be right for us to promote someone who does not play by the rules.”
