Apparently, the 26 games Kyrie Irving missed at the top of the season weren't enough to give his shoulder time to heal. After finally joining the Brooklyn Nets on the court last month, it looks like he's going to be out again.
Irving, who's been struggling with his sore shoulder since he returned, now has to undergo arthroscopic surgery, the team announced Thursday. As a result, he'll likely be gone for the rest of the season, Nets GM Sean Marks says. While Marks admits he's disappointed, he adds, "Our goal is long term health here."
Oddly enough, the Nets seem to perform better without the star player. Data compiled by SportsLine reveals Brooklyn has an 8-12 record with Irving, and a 17-16 record when he's on the bench.
