An intimate, home-cooked meal can be the perfect Valentine's Day surprise. And the icing on the cake can be the festive drink that compliments whatever dish you're eating. There are a variety of beverages that can be made to match every type of Valentine's occasion: a romantic one, one with the kids, a Galentine's celebration, a night out with the boys, or a party-of-one. For whatever party you choose to have, here are some drinks to consider.

Tainted Love

This is half drink and half dessert, and it looks tasty! Ingredients include strawberry vodka, Galliano, Cream De Cacao, and Tequila Rose. Skip to 2:30 to get past the chatter.

Chocolate Martini

Chocolate martinis are good no matter the day, but they can also be a nice touch to a romantic meal. There are several ways to make chocolate martinis, but this specific recipe calls for chocolate wafer cookies, chocolate syrup, Whipped vodka, and chocolate milk. This drink can also be a great non-alcoholic treat if you omit the vodka.

Gin Campari Sour

This drink is titled a "common man cocktail" but anyone can enjoy it. It has Gin, Campari, simple syrup, an egg white, and orange bitters.

Cotton Candy Cocktail

If you have a super sweet tooth, this drink might be your jam. It has Galentine's Day written all over it too. There are only three ingredients needed for this beverage, Gran Marnier, champagne, and a heap of cotton candy.

Valentine Mocktails

If you are celebrating Valentine's Day with kids, someone pregnant, or someone who just doesn't drink, these three mocktails will hit the spot. There is a recipe for a strawberry fizz, virgin strawberry orange mimosa, or a virgin mojito.

Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie

This non-alcoholic smoothie is made with watermelon, strawberry, and milk. It's easy, and it can be a great Valentine's Day breakfast smoothie. Or add vodka or rum to it to spice up the day.

Red Kiss

This drink has quite a few ingredients, but the end result makes the hard work with it. To make it, you'll need kiwi, strawberry puree, strawberries, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, lychee juice, and orange juice. A great addition to the beverage would be rosé, champagne, or a flavored spirit.

Cinnamon Kiss Cocktail

This drink is basically the liquid form of a Red Hot candy. It has vodka, cinnamon schnapps , pomegranate liqueur, bitters,  grenadine, and raspberries. It looks pretty and tastes pretty too.

The Love Martini

This beverage doesn't require much, but the end result is magic. Needed ingredients are cranberry juice, Malibu rum, peach schnapps, vodka, and strawberries.
