Cooking a turkey can be a rather stressful production, and surely lots of Americans start Googling information about how to do the best job cooking the bird at this time of year.
But that's not the only Thanksgiving delicacy that Americans search for on Google.
Google Trends released some interesting statistics about what people are using the search engine for, in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. Side dishes are being searched, and those side dishes vary by state.
Apparently, the southesast is very obsessed with dressing, as it the most searched sidedish in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. Potatoes have wide appeal: mashed potatoes is the most searched side dish in Alaska while sweet potatoes leads in Hawaii. Potatoes, in general, is the most searched in Maine.
Perhaps surprisingly, fruit salad is the most searched side dish in Texas. Mac and cheese is the most searched in California.
In North Dakota, people are searching for some low carb foods. Keto soup is trending there.
The most popular searched side dishes in the United States are, unsurprisingly, casseroles, veggies, stuffing and dressing.
Other interesting facts shared by Google: most of the country searches for information about how to cook a smoked turkey, but some states on the east coast search for frying or roasting. Pumpkin pie is the most searched pie, with pecan pie in second place. Find more search stats here.
