Toddler taken at gunpoint found safe, mother arrested

UPDATE: A toddler who was taken from an Orlando apartment at gunpoint has been found and his mother is in custody.

Orlando police said the 2-year-old was found safe in DeLand Wednesday afternoon. His mother, Sugey Perez Diaz, was arrested.

Further details were not released.


A toddler was abducted from his home at gunpoint overnight, according to reports.

Police said the 2-year-old boy, Jenzell Clinton Perez, might be with his biological mother, Sugey Perez Diaz.

She is accused of taking him from their apartment at the Metro at Michigan Park Condos on Conway Road in Orlando.

Perez was last seen in the area of the 1000 block of South Conway Road in Orlando, who was last seen wearing a diaper.

They may also be in the company of a male, wearing dark clothing. They may be traveling in a 2015, silver Lexus Rx350, Florida tag number IVTJ11. If located, DO NOT APPROACH.
