Andrei Vasilevskiy Signs Huge Extension

The Tampa Bay Lightning are keeping Andrei Vasilevskiy around, signing the goalie to an eight-year, $76 million contract extension on Monday.

The 25-year-old Vasilevskiy was awarded the Vezina Trophy last season after posting career highs in goals-against and save percentage while logging a 39-10-4 record.

The contract pays Vasilevskiy an average of $9.5 million per year, second only to Montreal's Carey Price among NHL goalkeepers.
