KD said he was sold on Nets system, GM says

Kevin Durant will most likely not play in the 2019/20 season, and that is the only reason this is not #1 on the list. KD was never going to get credit for winning back-to-back title with Golden State, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t the best player on the best team over the past 3 seasons. When KD returns and paired with Kyrie, the Nets will be favorites to win the East in 2020/21.

KD Was Sold On Nets System

What finally sold Kevin Durant on choosing the Nets when he entered free agency? The team's General Manager knows the reason.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, Sean Marks reveals that the NBA superstar told him, "I love the system. I love how you guys play. I see how hard you guys play. ... You were never out of games. We could never take you guys lightly."

While KD decided on Brooklyn before talking to Marks, that really isn't an issue in his mind. "I think we all know what we are getting with Kevin," he says, adding, "The talent is undeniable."

As for when Durant takes the court post his Achilles injury recovery, that's still in the air. "I have no idea, admits Marks. "We're certainly not going to rush him back. There's going to be absolutely none of that. We have far too much invested in him, and we owe it to Kevin to get him back to 100 percent."
