Melvin Gordon to Chargers: New Contract or Trade Me

ESPN says that RB Melvin Gordon told the Chargers that unless he gets a new contract, he won't be at trading camp and will demand a trade. Gordon's agent told ESPN that Gordon didn't want to take it this far but felt this was the only option to reach "a satisfying outcome."

Gordon's already in his last year of a fifth-year option worth $5.6 million. Gordon wants a new contract that puts his salary on par with other RBs like Le'Veon Bell and Todd Gurley. Gordon rushed an average 5.1 yards per carry and has the most scrimmage yards per play over the last 11 seasons at 114.6.
