Spreading Holiday Cheer Around The NBA
I’m going to sprinkle some holiday candy for NBA fans. The Christmas day NBA lineup is out and it features some impressive matchups. But first, I have a personal side note. I must admit I’ve always felt bad that super star players never get to spend Christmas morning at home with their kids. But I digress.
We are used to watching Lebron and the Cavs battle the Warriors on Christmas. Now we’ll get to see Lebron and his Lakers take on the Warriors. Out east we get to see the revamped rivalry between the 76ers and the Celtics. This series was great when I was a kid with Larry Bird and Dr. J. The series cooled off for a while but now it is a likely preview of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Utah Jazz will host the Blazers and the country will see two of the best players they’ve never heard of in Donavan Mitchell and Damian Lillard.
I’m not sure Kristaps Porzingis will be available for the Knicks home date against the Bucks and the “Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo. Yes, I spelled it correctly. And, by the way, it’s been like 40 years since the Bucks played on Christmas Day. Season’s Greetings Milwaukee!
Finally, the holiday will feature two teams whose players used to play for the other team as the Thunder roll into Houston.
Mark your calendar. Now let’s get back to football.
