It seems like Instagram rolls out a new feature every other day lately, usually to the delight of users.
However, we're not sure if the new feature is going to be met with as much excitement as other rollouts.
In a message on their blog, the social platform revealed it was in the midst of rolling out a green dot near your name.
Much like Facebook messenger, the green dot will appear next to your name when you are using Instagram.
You will be able to see the same green dot next to your friends names as well.
If you're not a fan of alerting your following base every time you're active on the platform, you do have the option to turn your activity status off.
Just go to your settings and you'll see "activity status" under privacy. Go ahead and click on it and turn it off.
