The body of a missing woman believed to have been attacked by an alligator has been recovered from a lake in Florida.
According to Naples Daily News, the search effort has concluded after Shizuka Matsuki vanished while walking her dogs in Davie, Florida.
Prior to the woman's disappearance, a man spotted the woman walking with her dogs.
Moments later, the woman had seemingly vanished without a trace.
Additionally, he noted the dogs were barking in the direction of a nearby lake.
Upon closer examination, it appeared one of the dogs was also attacked by the alligator.
The gator believed to be responsible for Matsuki's death is now deceased after being captured by authorities.
An autopsy is pending to try to determine the exact cause of the woman's death.
