Heartbreaking news has surfaced in West Melbourne, Florida.

Two infant children were found unresponsive over the weekend, and their mother has since been arrested.

According to the Daily Mail, a 9-1-1 call was placed from the home on Sunday.

At the time, the mother told the dispatcher the infant boy and girl were unresponsive.

When medics arrived, they pronounced one of the children dead at the scene. Sadly, the other infant died at the hospital.

It is not clear at this time what caused their deaths, however, the mother has been charged with neglecting the children, in addition to tampering with evidence.

Her neighbors did not seem to be aware of the infants or know the woman had been pregnant.

There were two other children in the home at the time the infants were found.

It is not clear at this time who is caring for her other children while she is in jail.
