A new study has revealed that people could be eating a considerable amount of plastic particles at the dinner table.
While the particles may not have been in your food initially, dust in your own home is responsible for the plastic making its way to your dinner plate.
The plastic particles are due to furnishings in your home, and by the time you've consumed your whole meal, it equates to digesting around 100 plastic particles.
According to the Daily Mail, scientists with Heriot-Watt University have concluded the average person consumes close to 70,000 plastic particles at the dinner table each year.
Consuming considerable amounts of plastic can cause lung and kidney damage, in addition to causing a hormone imbalance.
