A tree in Fort Myers, Florida is in jeopardy of being cut down and one woman is doing everything she can to save the tree -- Including marrying it.
Over the weekend, 60-year-old Karen Cooper married the 100-year-old tree in a public ceremony.
According to ABC, Cooper has been a resident of Fort Myers for 40 years. Obviously, the tree has a special significance to her.
The removal of the tree was requested by a developer in the area, and was signed off on by the city of Fort Myers.
The tree's canopy is so large that it reaches a plot of land nearby that is of great interest to the developer who requested the tree be removed.
It is not known at this time if the marriage will be enough to save the tree.
Time will tell ...
